Imperfect, old – and beautiful.. 

This Turkish nomad rug is 50-60 years old and the wool is handspun and hand dyed 

in plant colors - and the rug is handwoven.

 

Nomad rugs were - and still are - made for private use and not for sale. 

They show signs and traces of the persons who made it: the dyeing was made by hand 

and adds the vibrant and varied color shades of the rug, and also the irregularities

of the weaving and stitching.
