This loft apartment in Copenhagen is decorated in a minimalistic and Nordic style 
with a twist of colorful details and a soft unique Moroccan Azilal rug.

All Azilal rugs are unique and handmade from off white untreated lambs wool and colorful

Berber symbols.

The Moroccan Azilal rugs are hand knotted by Berber women in the Middle Atlas mountains 

in Morocco and they reflect the womens craftmanship and artistic skills.

We had a enjoyable photo shooting in the artist studio of painter Anne Tholstrup 

surrounded by her beautiful paintings - some finished, some in proces.

The cushion covers are hand-woven by skilled weavers in Morocco and designed by 

kira-cph.com

 

The Bedouin women on the edge of the Sahara are some of our much-appreciated 

collaborators.

They create all our rugs from scratch - from large piles of sheep wool - which are 

cleaned, washed, carded and spun into yarn. 

The women weave narrow webs on their traditional and simple weaves and the woven 

webs are sewn together into blankets or nomad tents of all possible sizes.

 

 

The nomadic rug Aisha no. 1 is designed by kira-cph.com based on the Bedouin women's

traditional weaving technique combined with a Nordic twist and it is sewn together by 3 

woven webs in black and off-white stripes.
